This is a painting I reworked, as the original one is 5 years old and I wasn't that happy about the colors. It was a lot of fun for me as the subject has the most marvelous face to paint. It's full of different nooks and crannies which I found very easy to show. My painting style has changed and it's all do to the way I've trained my eye to see. Click on gallery and you'll see them both in a bigger size. The blue backround is the older one done in 2002 or 2003.

This is an acrylic painting I did 7 months ago on site. It took me 6 hrs over a 3 day period. I had to wait for the same time every day to work but I captured what I wanted to.

Taking a break from Islamorada. It's not where I want it to be just yet so I'm stepping away from it right now. I know what I want to do with it and I will do it, eventually. This is a first for me. I've always worked on one piece at a time till completion. The area is so beautiful and serene and in this instance I don't think "less is more" applies. You can see full size in the gallery...
