I haven't a title for this one yet. I love the colors and enjoyed doing this one very much. I think it was all the different textures that made it most interesting to do. Also the colors made me feel confortable with both warm colors and that little bit of cool...niceeee going to use that combination again sometime. Clck on gallery to see this one larger.
We just got back from our mini vacation to the Florida Keys. The last pictures are photos I took there. The veiw is awesome! So quiet and you can see forever. This kind of place is perfect for meditation, relaxation, regrouping and mental planning. Ahhhhh so nice but unfortunately we had to leave a day early than planned as a storm was headed our way and we didn't want to drive in it. I hope with these photos you can feel what we feel when we are there. Click on Gallery to veiw them and enlarge them.
I found this frame and painted the material inset to work with the painting. The inset is flat but I shaded it to look rounded. Click on gallery to see it larger.
It's finished! I don't usually do this much detail on a painting but the banyon tree calls for it. I used oil paint and used a glazing medium to achieve the blending of colors. I'm quite pleased with the results. They are such interesting trees and I haven't seen one before I moved to a tropical climate.
It's about a week since I started the banyon tree and all is well. These trees are so complex but it is the perfect subject for me to get involved with at this time. It will take about another week to complete and then I'll post it.
