I started my new piece. To me the most interesting tree here in Florida is the Banyon tree. It's so complex and the feeler roots that come from branches make the tree spread. Edison home in Ft. Meyers has one. At one time it was almost an acre around so you have an idea of what beauty and interest is there. One of the recent hurricanes destroyed part of it. I'm painfully enjoying this one as with every stroke I think of a dear cousin/friend who is not feeling well so my title for this is "Glorias Tree". It will take me quite a while to finish and by that time she'll be home and comfortable.
After working on this piece for about 3 weeks I decided to put it aside to be finished at a later date. I'm quite disciplined when it comes to my work and I've never done this before. It took me a long time with many self debates to come to this conclusion. Right now I have a big blank canvas on my easel waiting for some color. It's all there in my head just waiting to be exposed.....
I'm still trying to figure this one out. I like what I'm doing but I don't know about the veiwers opinion and that unfortunately is keeping me at a snails pace. hmmmmmm Maybe I'll just forget about others and do this one for myself.
I just started a new abstract. It's 24x36 which is much bigger than the ones I've been working on. I've gone to a different place inside me to come up with the ideas and it's untapped territory. It's a new adventure and exciting. I don't think I'll post it until it's finished but I'll be popping in to give an update.
It's finished and ready to go to the show. I'm hoping this encourages those of you who have been toying with the idea of doing a painting. Get some paints, a big brush, canvas or canvas board and just do it!. You won't know how enjoyable it is until you start. Click on Gallery for a larger view.
