I've worked most of my painting life to do the type of work I'm doing now. I just started a painting and it's way different than any other one. I have a positive outlook about it. It's different. it's a challenge and I'm excited!

I needed a frame and found this old painting I did, in fact it was my very first painting in oil. The scene is 42nd st and 5th avenue in NYC. This is a veiw from my office window and it was a very ambitious attempt for me knowing nothing about painting. It's very primative but I am so glad I saved it. It's fun for me to look at this as I can see the changes I made in my art over the years. So that old saying is true..."Practice makes perfect" and one day I will be.

It's finished! Sides are painted and dry and the title is "Mystical Moment". I think it fits. This is a very different kind of painting for me. I enjoyed it and I would like to do another one using a more limited palette. Click on gallery for larger size. Comments would be appreciated..

This is a painting I reworked, as the original one is 5 years old and I wasn't that happy about the colors. It was a lot of fun for me as the subject has the most marvelous face to paint. It's full of different nooks and crannies which I found very easy to show. My painting style has changed and it's all do to the way I've trained my eye to see. Click on gallery and you'll see them both in a bigger size. The blue backround is the older one done in 2002 or 2003.

This is an acrylic painting I did 7 months ago on site. It took me 6 hrs over a 3 day period. I had to wait for the same time every day to work but I captured what I wanted to.
